**Note: the section below "What You Should Expect On A Provincial Team" is directed more towards the U19 girls.  At the U12 level, Provincial level play is brand new and this is when girls get a chance to play with the best in the province and experience the competition in a fun way.  In upper years, the girls will decide to pursue the Provincial level or choose to play at a Regional level after having experienced both types of teams.  This is an awesome opportunity to get for the young girls to play teams from all across Ontario, get more ice time and play the game we all love.

Participation in Provincial Level Ringette requires a significant investment of time and money. Players are expected to participate in the following weekly events:

  • power skating                            *dryland training
  • ·on-ice practices                 *league games
  • exhibition games

In addition to the above, teams will participate in four tournaments during the season that are typically 3 days long running from Friday to Sunday. Travel for league games is typically east to Oshawa, south to Niagara Falls, north to Newmarket and west to London. The participating centres change from year to year.

Although a firm cost for participating in Provincial Ringette cannot be given, it is estimated, that in addition to the Ayr registration fees, players can expect to pay an additional $250 in provincial fees, along with other costs associated with tournaments (including meals & lodging), uniforms, power skating, and dryland training. These additional fees can add another $1000 to $1,200 (excluding meals and lodging) to the cost. These fees can be, and are normally offset by, player and team participation in fundraising. All fees other than registration are generally collected on a monthly basis.  A Provincials will be hosted by the Timmins Ringette Association this season!

Ayr Ringette is committed to providing viable competitive ringette opportunities for its players. We understand that Provincial Level Ringette is a significant commitment on the part of everyone, players, parents and coaching staff alike.  Ayr Ringette is committed to providing all of its members with the necessary support, including financial fundraising opportunities, and cost effective training.
